Babies, ones, and twos will be placed in baby beds and rolled to the fire exit. All preschoolers (babies-kindergarten) will exit through the infant’s room (W114) fire exit door and turn right (east). Congregate at the back east fence of the parking lot behind Classic 50’s.
Children 1st-5th grade will exit down the north stairwell by the 5th grade girls’ classroom out into the north alley and turn right (east). Congregate at the back east fence of the parking lot behind Classic 50’s.
If a fire is in the kitchen area, children will turn left out of the fire exit doors, walk around the building and congregate at the back east fence of the parking lot behind Classic 50’s.
Parents will not be able to take their children from the line exiting the building but will be able to pick up all children from the far east parking lot and must notify the teachers before taking them.
Babies, ones, and twos will go directly to room W113.
Threes, fours, fives, and kindergarteners will go directly to room W108.
1st and 2nd graders will go down the south stairwell and go to room W101.
3rd, 4th, and 5th graders will go down the south stairwell and go to room W107.
These are all inside room with no outside walls or windows. Parents will be able to pick up their children by coming to the children’s welcome desk where they will be directed to the right room.
Intruder/Active Shooter Procedures:
When alerted, teachers will make sure doors are locked, turn off lights, and hide children where they cannot be seen from the doors or windows.
Babies will hide in the fire escape hallway and the teachers will secure the door.
Ones, twos, threes, fours, fives, and kindergarteners will hide in the connecting bathrooms of their classrooms.
1st-5th graders will hide in designated corners of their rooms.
All children and teachers will stay in lock down until given the all clear by the police officer or Bethel staff.
If children are on the playground, the teachers are to hide the children under the large play structure unless ordered by police to escort them across the street to KFC.
