From the first song to the last song, both choirs and congregations will be taken on a journey through the arrival of the King of Kings, the Almighty, The Great I Am. The Journey of Christmas features sing-able arrangements of both time-honored and newly-created songs for the Christmas season.
A way station is a stopping point on a journey, or a temporary stage in a longer process. Mitchell Schuster is the somewhat reluctant inheritor of a small family gas station that is, as he says, at the intersection of nowhere and oblivion.
Although his suitcase is perpetually packed, he never seems to be able to escape from his struggling business to take a long-planned-always-postponed Christmas trip, much less start the life he is sure God had promised him. But as the years pass, Mitchell finds himself providing brief, but necessary, respite for various strangers on their own Christmas journeys: some need to get directions, some need to turn around and take a different route, others simply need a short rest. Spanning six decades, Mitchell learns that sometimes the greatest journey you can take is in helping others find the right road. In the process, you may arrive at a destination far different than the one originally sought: returning to the foot of a manger . . . and the heart of God.
Childcare will be available for birth through pre-kindergarten in the Children's Department.
